CLASS PROCEDURES
1. All work must have the complete heading on the first page of your assignment:
Name
Date
Hour
This should be placed at the top right hand corner of the assignment. The following pages must have your name and page number. If this is not completed the assignment will be returned to you to complete.
2. On all work, excessive messiness and spelling errors will also be returned for you to correct before the assignment can be counted as complete and ready for my assessment.
3. Keep all assignments and notes in the binder. The teacher will keep all tests.
4. Weekly extension assignments, tests and projects will be written on the front board the first day of the school week. Scheduled work can also be accessed through my teacher website located on the Oakview web page.
LATE AND MAKE-UP WORK PROCEDURES
1. All assessments are expected to be turned in when due. If these assessments are late then you will decide when you will complete the assessment. You will be expected to give up your time during lunch, before or after school to complete any late work. If you decide to not complete this work, then parents will be contacted for arrangments to be made for the work completion. If at the time of the formal unit assessment the assignment is not completed you will receive an incomplete grade showing your non-compliance.
2. All students are responsible for contacting the teacher to find out what work was missed while absent.
3. All missed tests must be made up within one to five days after returning to school.
GRADING PROCEDURES --(for now)
First term averages will be computed as follows:
1. Approximately 3-4 test/quiz=35%
2. Common Assessment= 40%
3. Reading Assessments=5%
4. Writing Assessments=5%
5. Preparing for Standard Assessments=5% (extensions)
6. Projects=10%
Grading policy-Standard Based Grading is the target for this year. At this time the implementation of this policy is being developed.

Conduct Grading Scale---Begins the first day of school. (Any “three” conduct ratings or higher, disqualify you for induction into the National Junior Honor Society)
One-Outstanding, effort made to participate in a variety of settings, support and cooperation when working in groups, respect is demonstrated beyond expected norms for middle school student and follows all classroom and school rules
Two-Consistently exhibits appropriate behavior in the areas stated above
Three-Usually exhibits appropriate behavior in the areas stated above
Four-Rarely exhibits appropriate behavior in the areas stated above
Five-Unacceptable behavior in the areas stated above

CLASSROOM BEHAVIOR POLICIES
- No student in any way will damage the teaching environment. Ex. leaning against the walls, bulletin board or posters.
- Students are not to distract from the teaching process. Ex. Talking, passing notes, etc.
- Students will be courteous at all times. Ex. No interrupting the teacher or students, sharpening pencils while teacher is talking, and leaving your seat during class lessons (unless it is an emergency).
- Honesty is required at all times.
- Gum is not allowed in my classroom.
- All school handbook rules and regulations are expected to be followed.
